Description

Tasty Az is a not for profit community based grass roots social enterprise.
Founded and established by the Managing Director Julie Ann Morman in 2013, It delivers education, training, cooking and life skills, work experience, placement and pathways to employment for young people living with disability. The kitchen cooking school offers Pre Accredited Introduction to Hospitality Training with eight students at a time, and twelve NDIS participants in partnership with The Basin Community House.
Kathryn Walker graphic designer has worked closely with Tasty Az from
the beginning; designing the logo, and developing a recognisable branding style.

All promotional material such as business cards, labels, banners, menus, flyers and illustrative elements developed for Tasty Az over the years have stayed true to a clean simple message and complimented the logo
which features the kitchen apron with strings binding the community inclusively with colours blue and orange to represent friendship and trust.

With the support of local businesses, client loyalty, Julie Ann’s passion and willingness to embrace design advice based on a strong client designer relationship, the Tasty Az brand has become a recognisable force that has proved to be very successful in a sustainable way moving forward which was recently featured on Yarra Ranges Live TV.

A series of digitally illustrated avatars were created representing each member of the learning team and teachers to be applied to the newly setup and managed Instagram page with designed posts and images featuring current and upcoming projects and initiatives.

Prior to coved-19 Tasty Az delivered face to face learning based in Mount Evelyn Victoria. Providing NDIS core & capacity building programs and real life catering outcomes and were about to embark on the design of signage for a proposed onsite cafe, but with the current global pandemic, 2020 presented a unique challenge for the team to keep delivering the service in a safe and successful way. This was achieved by transitioning to online learning, contactless delivery of a range of products the ability to change the design requirements and to embrace the power of social media to promote it.

A series of upcoming promotional flyers, design elements for a new website and a product sticker design will hold Tasty Az in good stead for the future to benefit the brand, community and students alike.
