Description

The Retail Activation District Providing Opportunities for Development (RAD POD) model is an innovative and diverse concept for budding entrepreneurs. The modular and flexible ‘pop-ups’ will provide students, alumni and industry partners of RMIT University with an opportunity to offer new products and services, with competitive price points, diversity and sustainability at the forefront of the commercial approach.

Key Features

The outcome of this brand identity project was to create an engaging visual consistency across of print and digital collateral (online advertisement for social media and graphical elements for the existing RMIT website). The visual communication needed to align with the current RMIT brand identity, using this as a base for further graphical development.

A prerequisite was the use of pre-existing brand elements, those being, bold textures, colour combinations combined with bold typography to create a sense of the unique, evolving space on offer to potential students and alumni

As the pop-up modular spaces will provide an opportunity for students and mentors to get together in a real retail setting, which will allow students to book the spaces to launch and run their budding businesses within a CBD location. The visual story telling needed to be vibrant in its approach and engage with a young energetic audience wanting to start new projects.

The visual communication was a creative story for people, space and a product that has been a successful model that has had great interest, providing an array of events organised by students, alumni and industry partners.
